Daisy Chain Children’s Nursery, with locations in Blaby, Wigston, and the newly opened Whetstone, is a family-run business dedicated to providing outstanding care and education. Established in 2009 with the acquisition of the Blaby nursery, followed by Wigston in 2012, and Whetstone recently, the nursery embraces each child’s individuality, tailoring learning experiences to their unique preferences and developmental stages.

The team, led by Senior Manager Amanda Donkin, who brings over 30 years of experience, focuses on holistic well-being and nurturing each child's unique personality through formative assessment. The nurseries have consistently achieved "Outstanding" ratings from Ofsted, reflecting their commitment to high standards.

Daisy Chain also emphasises a healthy environment, working towards accreditations like "Healthy Tots" and "Healthy Workplaces," and is passionate about environmental sustainability, aiming for a "green flag" award. The team ensures a supportive and engaging atmosphere for children and families, with managers like Natalie Brotherwood and Rachel Brewin, both highly qualified and experienced, leading their respective branches.

What it's like

Children thrive in this exceptional and inspiring nursery, proudly leading visitors on tours and using their creativity and imagination in play. They gain extensive knowledge, for example, about birdlife and dinosaurs, with staff's support in making connections across learning areas. Children develop a clear understanding of their emotional well-being, are inquisitive and independent learners, and make significant progress in all areas thanks to passionate and knowledgeable staff who set high expectations for behaviour.

Pricing & funding

Fees are structured around full-time weekly places or single full days from 7.45am to 5.45pm. Additional meal charges apply for funded hours for children aged three and over. A non-refundable registration fee is required for full day care, and a sibling discount is available.
