What it's like to attend

• Children delight in listening to stories and engage in back-and-forth interactions with enthusiastic staff, encouraging a love of reading.
• Staff provide children with opportunities to take appropriate risks and tackle challenges, promoting confidence and physical health.
• Children have healthy snacks, and leaders encourage parents to provide healthy lunch box contents.
• Staff work closely with parents to support and extend learning at home, including providing books for children in receipt of extra funding and frequent meetings with parents.
• Leaders focus on improving staff knowledge of managing children's behaviour, and children overall know staff's expectations for their behaviour.
• Following the COVID-19 pandemic, leaders are focusing on children's speech and language as a priority, utilising one-to-one adult interaction, games, and sign language to help children make good progress.
• Staff have a sound knowledge of safeguarding, attend regular training, and are confident in recording and reporting concerns.
• The site is secure, with clear visitor procedures, and staff regularly check the environment to ensure a safe play area.
