Inclusion & environment
The manager uses early years pupil premium funding to support children's individual needs and close any gaps in their development. Staff provide support for children who speak English as an additional language by having one-to-one time and gathering key words from their home language.
Staff provide a wide range of experiences, indoors and outdoors, which help children to make good progress. The outdoor environment has been developed and enhanced to provide children with a broad curriculum if they prefer to learn outdoors.
Staff provide support for children who speak English as an additional language. They have one-to-one time with staff to learn new English words, and staff gather some key words from their home language. However, at times, they do not plan large-group times as effectively to engage and enable children who speak English as an additional language to fully participate.
Our daughter attended Daisy Chain from 11 months old until we very sadly had to move away to a different city. It is an exceptional nursery, thanks in large part to the staff — many of whom have been there for years (over a decade in some cases!). They took the time to get to know our daughter as an individual, and we could tell she was really happy to see them when we dropped her off. There were some excellent male role models among the staff, which was great to see. We loved seeing what she was up to each day through the Famly app, with regular updates and photos. The activities were incredibly creative, with lots of crafts and outdoor play. We really feel that Daisy Chain gave our daughter the very best start, and we are so grateful.
Read on GoogleThis is an exceptional nursery. My younger son's first nursery closed suddenly in 2020, and Daisy Chain came to our aid and took him in. He had 2 very happy years there, where the staff really helped him grow as a person and gave him the confidence to start school. The same has been true for my younger son, who has enjoyed 3 fantastic years in their care. Today is his last day and all of the family (including grandparents) are very emotional about our time there coming to and end. Bev and her team are kind, warm and so hardworking. We are so grateful to them for everything they have done for our boys. Highly recommended!!
Read on GoogleMy little girl started Daisy Chain at 11 months. Everyone helped make my transition back tom work so much easier. It's literally like home from home and they have been the catalyst in shaping her into the strong independent girl she is today. She turned 4 in August and left Daisy Chain preschool and started reception at our local school, she is thriving and I honestly think it's because of how she have been looked after and nutured by everyone at nursery. My 5 month old is already on the waiting list for next year, there's no other place I would want her to go. Thank you everyone 🌼
Read on GoogleWe first used Daisy Chain in 2015 when our son turned 9months, he loved his time there and made some great friends who he then moved onto primary school with. In 2018 when we found it we were expecting again we had no hesitation in using Daisy Chain , our daughter was booked in from the 20week scan! She is now nearly 3 and is currently in Tweenie room, she absolutely loves it. She has made some lovely friends and you can see how much fun she’s having through the videos sent on the capture app. The staff are so lovely and friendly and very approachable. Thank you Bev and the Daisy Chain team
Read on GoogleWe chose Daisy Chain for our son back in 2016 when he was 13 months and remained there went until he left for Primary school. Daisy Chain have been absolutely fantastic we certainly had no hesitation when it was time to send our daughter in 2018 who is now in Tweenies. We really like their whole ethos, they treat every child is an individual, finding out their strengths and also work on how to build on areas which may be out of the child’s comfort zone. Both my children have been/are very happy at the nursery and love all the staff. My daughter will ask when she wakes up if she is going to nursery, when I say 'yes it's nursery today' she replies with 'yaye I'm going to nursery', it really is/has been a home from home for both of them. The pictures and videos they take are uploaded onto an online journal which really is so lovely to be able to 'actually' see what your child has been up to during the day. I can truly say that Daisy chain has provided such a fantastic start for both my children and I will be forever grateful to them.
