Dinky Ducks Nursery and Pre-School in Gosport provides a warm and welcoming environment where children aged 0-4 years happily engage with kind and caring staff. The nursery is open all year, from 7am to 6pm, closing only for a week over Christmas and on public holidays.
The dedicated team ensures children make good progress, particularly those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff swiftly implement intervention groups, such as 'bucket time', which skilfully captures children's attention using sensory toys to support their development.
Children are challenged physically, with very young children delighting in climbing and older children creating their own obstacle courses, jumping off a cable reel with staff support. The nursery fosters independence, teaching children hand-washing and nose-wiping from an early age.
Staff also broaden children's understanding of the world, for instance, through activities like a 'crowns and tiaras' day for the coronation. Parents consistently speak highly of the setting and its staff, appreciating how well staff know their children and support their learning.
Strong parent partnerships are a cornerstone of the nursery, with staff providing regular meetings, signposting to support groups, and online updates.

Inclusion & environment
Children make good progress, in particular children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff swiftly act to ensure intervention groups are in place to support children with SEND to help close the gaps in development. For example, children take part in 'bucket time', where staff skilfully capture their attention as they observe different sensory toys.
Children are challenged in their physical development. For example, very young children climb up and down a climbing frame with great delight. Older children enjoy creating their own obstacle courses and challenge themselves to jump as high as they can off the cable reel while being supported by staff.
A fantastic nursery - very attentive staff who my son loves. He is always happy at nursery and has developed socially so much since joining. Best decision I have ever made for him.
