Early Years Centre at Staghills, established in 2017, provides childcare for babies and young children aged 0-2 years in Newchurch, Rossendale. The setting offers a calm and cosy environment where children are happy and content, easily exploring and feeling safe due to the very positive relationships formed with staff.
This nurturing atmosphere ensures children feel valued, cared for, and secure enough to seek support when needed. The nursery operates year-round, Monday to Friday, from 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM, and follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
The staff are adept at quickly identifying learning gaps and implementing tailored plans, especially for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, with support from SEND coordinators and external professionals. Outdoor learning is also a key feature, with a recently developed outdoor area providing ample physical play opportunities, allowing babies and children to practice physical skills and learn in fresh air.
Interactions are stimulating and effective, contributing to children rapidly developing speaking skills and exceeding expectations across all areas of learning.

Inclusion & environment
Every interaction and activity provided by staff has a purpose and covers a range of learning opportunities for children to gain new skills, particularly those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who need more focused support. Staff identify gaps in children's learning very quickly and implement plans with the support of special educational needs coordinators and external professionals to provide expertise and tailored support, which helps children to continue to learn and develop.
Babies and children enjoy practising their physical skills and learning in the fresh air when they play outside. Leaders have recently developed the outdoor area to provide more physical opportunities to babies.
A well equipped nursery with plenty of friendly staff
Read on GoogleBoth my children love going to nursery. They especially love the allotment and forest school. They say the lunches are delicious too! The staff are so kind and welcoming. As parents we are given lots of communications about upcoming events and activities. There are lots of extra activities which the children can get involved in such as cooking and gardening school. I wouldn’t want my children to go anywhere else.
