Whitewell Bottom Pre-School, a voluntary-run establishment located within the Whitewell Bottom Community Centre, offers excellent childcare and education for children aged 2 to 4 years. The pre-school operates during term-time, from 9 am to 3 pm every weekday.

They are dedicated to creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for children through play, laughter, and fun, both indoors and in their well-equipped outdoor area. The curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework, ensuring children develop new skills and ideas at their own pace and through positive experiences, always with an emphasis on enjoyment.

The pre-school accepts government funding for 15 hours of nursery education for all 3 and 4-year-olds, as well as eligible 2-year-olds. Additionally, they provide 30 hours of government-funded education and childcare for eligible working families.

With highly qualified and experienced staff, including those with Early Years professional or Teacher status, the pre-school is committed to the inclusion of all children, fostering their maximum potential in a safe and well-planned setting. For added security, a password system is in place for child collection.

Our ethos

Our key objective is to provide the best stimulating, educational and caring environment that we can, thus ensuring that the children achieve their maximum potential whilst having massive amounts of fun whilst they are with us for their pre-school learning journey. We pride ourselves on our level of our skill, our knowledge and practise techniques that we implement daily in assisting each child develop to their full potential. And this we believe must be at the childs own pace, through positive experiences. And, of course having fun, lots of fun!

SEND provision

The interesting curriculum is differentiated according to children's individual needs and interests. Innovative use of funding during the COVID-19 pandemic meant that dedicated staff were able to address emerging gaps in learning, such as confidence, communication, turn taking and sharing.

Outdoor space

Children learn the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. They engage in energetic play regardless of the weather, where they develop skills, such as running, balancing, climbing and jumping.
