About this day nursery

East Leake Village Day Nursery provides a stimulating and nurturing environment where children from infancy through preschool can develop and learn through play. The nursery categorises its care into three distinct rooms: the Yellow Room for babies up to two years old, offering individualised attention and a calm atmosphere for rest; the Green Room for two to three-year-olds, focusing on group activities, stories, and outdoor play with dedicated key workers; and the Blue Room, a preschool setting, prioritising school readiness by fostering confidence and independence.

The Blue Room's curriculum is structured around the 7 areas of the EYFS, incorporating focused learning times for literacy and numeracy, alongside activities such as cooking, music, and movement. The nursery actively engages children with frequent visits to the local library and playground, and prepares fresh, nutritious meals on-site, catering to dietary needs, ensuring a holistic approach to child development.

Our ethos

We believe that by capturing children’s interest they will find learning an enjoyable process and by offering lots of opportunities and experiences indoors and outdoors, children are able to take the next step to school as confident, independent and happy individuals.

What it's like

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, parents are invited to stay with their children for at least their first settling-in session prior to them starting. This enables children to see their parents holding conversations with staff and feeling comfortable in the nursery, helping children to feel safe and secure. Children are supported to develop their physical skills and follow their interests, such as making pretend rockets.
