Absolutely outstanding! From the moment I met Verina, the Centre Manager, she has been warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble — she is genuinely one of the nicest, most organised, and generous people I have ever met. The Eastwood Community Centre itself is a beautiful, inviting space — always spotless and clearly cared for with great pride and love. It’s by far the most immaculate and well-run community centre I’ve ever hired. Verina made such a positive impression on me that I decided to book regular weekly venue hire, which soon extended to multiple days throughout the week. Nearly three years later, the exceptional standards have never wavered. I’m so grateful for her continued kindness, professionalism, and dedication. I truly wish every community centre had a Verina — she’s fantastic! My business feels safe, supported, and right at home here. I couldn’t recommend the Eastwood Community Centre highly enough. Thank you, Verina, and everyone on the committee, for all that you do to make this such a wonderful place.

Today we had a 6th birthday party for our son at Eastwood Community Centre and it couldn't have gone better. Organisation, communication and service was brilliant throughout. Verina runs the centre like a well oiled machine and clearly takes pride in her work there. Thank you so much for helping to make our day so memorable.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews but our experience must be shared. We rented out this space for my family members 13th birthday party as a number of her friends had done the same in the past. Never in my life have I ever been spoken to and treated in such a way by another human being. We had rented out the hall from 6-9 and was told beforehand that we would have 30 minutes either side to set up and clean up. On the night, we were then told all the guests had to leave by 8:30 - there was not much we could do as invites had been sent and parents were expecting a 9pm finish. At 8:40, both the manager and a chair member came in, turned on the lights and told the DJ to pack up and go home. The man that was a chair member then continued to go up to the children and scream in their faces, telling them to get out. We were in utter shock. To add to this he also told several 13 year old girls that they were “very attractive”. They proceeded to scream at us infront of all of the children. Very embarrassing for the birthday girl but more so for them to be honest to act in such a manner. After going backwards and forwards, whilst we were trying to clean, we told the chairman that he was making it increasingly difficult to do as he requested whilst he followed us around screaming in our faces. I was personally told to “keep sweeping the floor because it is all I am good for”. There were a lot of reference to “you lot”. My family is of African descent so this felt extremely racially motivated. I am sure we will be accused of being aggressive, a typical racial stereotype, but I cannot stress enough the immediate rage this man had as soon as he came into the hall. We initially tried to reason and stay calm but it was near impossible to when this man was practically foaming at the mouth with anger for no good reason. He would scream in our faces and then try and shake our hands and say to put it behind us. Very bizarre. I think he may have been drunk. The chairman then continuously threaten to withhold our deposit. A threat we really did not understand as we were cleaning up after ourselves. Withholding the deposit was in no way warranted. We asked the children to stay in the lobby area as we did not want them all waiting outside in the dark at night in the cold. The chairman then proceeded to physically shove 13 year olds out of the door, ripping drinks and cake from their hands. One boy even tried to get a cup of water and he grabbed it out of his hand and told him he was not allowed any water. Rightfully so we began arguing with this man, telling him not to lay a finger on the children. This is completely unnecessary and frankly mishandling. Outrageous behaviour from a fully grown man. Whilst arguing with a female member of my family who was defending the children, he raised his fists to her and tried to charge forward before being held back. All of this was because we may have left 10/15 minutes late. At this point it wasn’t even 9pm. A handful of the children were very confused as they have attended and hosted numerous parties at this venue and all of which overran the allotted time slot. I understand being annoyed about the timings but the way they reacted 20 minutes prior to the given time for departure was disturbing. You do not speak and treat people in this way, nor do you put your hands on children and call them names. We were told we were black-listed from the venue. Hilarious. Like we will ever go back. Lack of professionalism, dignity and humanity. Could not warn people away from this place enough. I am glad we didn’t offer them any cake.

Cannot believe the experience we had - some of the most disrespectful, unprofessional and genuinely disgusting individuals I’ve ever encountered. All I can say is the “chairman” manhandled the children, swore and screamed at them, and this so called, made inappropriate comments to my partner. For the sake of your children do not host any parties here and I hope both the manager and chairmen, who was noticeably drunk by the way, are properly dealt with.
