Whitehouse Playgroup Preschool, a childcare setting on non-domestic premises in Southend-on-Sea, received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 29th September 2025. 30am to 3pm, during term-time only, catering to children aged 0-4 years.
At Whitehouse Playgroup Preschool, children flourish in a warm and inviting environment with clear routines, which support smooth transitions and emotional security. Staff nurture emotional well-being through positive relationships and gentle guidance, helping children learn about empathy, kindness, and emotional regulation.
The curriculum is delivered through rich, hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. Staff skilfully use everyday play and outdoor learning to develop children's skills.
While the pre-school effectively supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) through individual support plans developed with parents and professionals, some larger group activities may not fully accommodate their personal learning styles. This means that while children with SEND make progress, some opportunities do not enable them to fully participate in larger group activities because their personal learning styles have not been planned for precisely enough to ensure active engagement in learning.
