Elm Tree Pre-School, established in 1978, is a nurturing educational setting located in Farnham, Surrey. Having been run by Hazel Cottrell in Weybourne since 2013, the pre-school prides itself on offering an inclusive and diverse environment for children aged two and a half to five years.

The philosophy centres around providing valuable opportunities through play, fostering individual development, learning, and understanding. The pre-school has received a 'Good' rating from Ofsted and holds a 'Very Good' 5-star food hygiene rating.

They focus on developing children's communication, independence, and early learning skills, aiming to instil an enthusiasm for learning that will support their growth. The dedicated team is highly qualified and trained, offering a large outdoor space for children's activities and promoting strong parent partnerships.

Parents receive regular updates on their child's development and achievements through an online system called Tapestry.

What it's like

Children thoroughly enjoy their time at the pre-school. Staff warmly welcome them, taking the time to get to know children's unique interests and personalities. This helps children who are younger and less confident to settle happily. Children behave well. They are polite and courteous with staff and with their friends. Staff successfully teach children the importance of valuing and respecting the needs of each other. For instance, as children sit to share stories, they selflessly offer their friend a turn to discover which animal is hidden in the story.
