About this day nursery

Fen Drayton Montessori Nursery, established in 2011, provides childcare for children aged 0-9 years. The nursery operates all year round, from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, closing only for bank holidays and one week at Christmas.

With an overall "Good" rating from its latest Ofsted inspection on 24 June 2024, the nursery prides itself on its clear and well-sequenced curriculum, shaped around children's interests. The dedicated staff team focuses on each child's individual needs, helping them build on existing knowledge and understanding.

The nursery has a strong ethos supporting early communication and language development, alongside personal, emotional, and social growth. Children are encouraged to be confident and enthusiastic learners, with staff providing clear explanations and fostering independence from a young age, such as babies learning to feed themselves.

The provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) focuses on individualised support, with regular team meetings ensuring staff can address specific needs. Outdoor learning is a significant part of the experience; older children, for example, enjoy imaginative play in the garden, using a boat to travel to different countries and practising early writing skills.

Partnerships with parents are highlighted as strong, with regular updates and resources provided to support learning at home.

I have sent all 3 of my children to this homely feeling nursery. We are very happy with there care and learning opportunities they have experienced here. All of my children have had strong bonds with the staff looking after them and look forward to going in every day. The staff happily greet my child every day and tailor activities to suit my child's learning. The nursery has been introducing experiences to the children like going out on walks in the local area, going to the park, going bird watching, and have been inviting local visitors into the nursery. The chef always cooks lovely meals that my little one enjoys everyday. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for childcare for their little one.

A lovely, friendly, caring nursery. A really welcoming and comfortable feel, not at all sterile like I find some nursery settings. My daughter has been really happy here, settling very quickly and being excited to go to nursery every day.
