Meadow Lane Children's Nursery is situated on an expansive farmland setting in St Ives, offering a unique environment with livestock, allotments, and diverse indoor and outdoor play spaces. This enables numerous Forest School sessions and abundant opportunities for outdoor play and learning, fostering children's connection with nature.
The nursery adheres to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum while also integrating the Reggio Emilia approach, which promotes learning and development across seven key areas through exploration, discovery, and play, emphasising respect, responsibility, and community. The environment is continuously updated to align with the children's interests, placing them at the core of all activities.
Staff create resources by hand to ignite imagination and curiosity. The nursery encourages lifelong learning by building self-confidence through varied experiences and skills acquired via self-directed play.
Meadow Lane comprises four classrooms—Dandelion’s, Daffodil’s, Daisy’s, and Dahlia’s—where children transition based on their developmental progress. They utilise inquiry-based learning, developing topics and questions that incorporate children's interests to enhance their learning journey, with staff co-learning alongside the children.

Inclusion & environment
Children make impressive progress in every aspect of their learning and development, especially those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Children thrive as they thoroughly enjoy the huge range of indoor and outdoor learning opportunities. They develop a true sense of the world around them as they grow produce in the large kitchen garden and learn to manage risks and outdoor challenges around the farm and forest school area.
Both of our children have attended Meadow Lane Nursery, and we couldn’t recommend it more highly. The care, attention, and learning environment are exceptional. We previously used another nursery and thought it was fine, until we experienced Meadow Lane. The difference was clear immediately. The staff are caring, consistent, and clearly love what they do. Regular updates through the app give great peace of mind, and the highlight is seeing photos of the children exploring, building, or feeding the animals. The food is varied and healthy, with ingredients the kids often help grow themselves! If you're looking for the best nursery in the St Ives area, this is it. Meadow Lane does everything you'd expect to a high standard, and then goes above and beyond.
