Finkley Nurseries, established in 2017 by early years expert Alison Dennis, provides outstanding childcare and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The nursery group is dedicated to fostering a stimulating and engaging setting where children can thrive, learn, and explore through imaginative play.
Starting with its first location at Finkley Down Farm in Andover, the group has since expanded to include several other nurseries in various locations, with a new branch in Overton slated for 2026. A distinctive feature of Finkley Nurseries is its strong emphasis on outdoor learning and community engagement, ensuring children experience the world around them regardless of the weather.
They participate in diverse outings, visiting local libraries, woodlands, and even engaging with care home residents. Each nursery is thoughtfully designed to facilitate development through free-flow play, both indoors and outdoors, offering expansive gardens, mud kitchens, vegetable patches, and sensory areas to spark independence, creativity, and happiness.
As part of Attraction Nurseries, Finkley Nurseries shares a commitment to providing meaningful and inspiring early years education.

Inclusion & environment
Staff use their comprehensive knowledge and understanding of each child's development to move them on in their learning. They work well as a team to meet children's individual care and learning needs, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Managers have provided training that has improved staff understanding of how to incorporate children's next steps for learning into activities. As a result, staff skilfully adapt the curriculum to meet children's individual needs, including children with SEND. The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with SEND.
Children enjoy regular outings in the local community that help them to learn about the world. Children confidently name the colours of the rainbow on a sign in the garden. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and completed a joint observation with one of the managers, assessing the impact this was having on children's learning.
