Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Older children who need additional support make significant progress because they are taught how to self-regulate their emotions. The teaching of emotional literacy is embedded throughout the nursery and prepares children very well for their transition to school.

Outdoor space

Toddlers share resources well, supporting each other to dig for treasure in the garden. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.

EAL / language support

There is very effective support for children who speak English as an additional language (EAL). For instance, cue cards help staff communicate everyday words in the child's first language, which staff then repeat in English. Staff also provide visual reinforcement of the words in Makaton sign. In addition, parents are encouraged to record themselves speaking key words in their home language for staff to play alongside English. This helps children with EAL feel at ease and supports rapid advances in their English language learning.

After looking at several nurseries when my son was born and choosing one that didn’t suit him, I can’t describe the relief of finding this nursery. We haven’t been here long, but my husband and I are already so glad we moved him, he is thriving. As a nervous child, he needed extra settling-in sessions, and the staff supported him with patience and understanding. Now he comes home buzzing from all the activities and stimulation, and it’s wonderful to see how much he’s learning. The menu is excellent, healthy, homemade, and varied. I also love that he can access the outdoor space whenever he wants, as being outside makes him happiest. The staff are always welcoming, and I appreciate how open they are to parents visiting and seeing children in their environment. Communication is clear and efficient from all (including admin), and the app updates are consistent and reassuring, giving us a real picture of his day. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone, it’s been such a weight lifted knowing he’s in the right place.

Would thoroughly recommend, I really can't say enough good things about the team that has looked after my son. The setting is great, management are very professional and flexible and the key workers show genuine love and attention to him. He is very content and comes back having learnt new words, signs, songs every day!
