St Paul's Pre-School, operating since 1988, is a well-established childcare setting in Winchester for children aged 2-4 years. The pre-school encourages physical play in its outdoor area, with activities like balancing and washing large toys, ensuring children benefit from physical activity both indoors and out.
Staff are highly attentive to the communication and language development of all children, employing visual aids and basic sign language to support those learning English as an additional language. The setting prioritises an inclusive environment, with staff carefully adapting the environment for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), even providing a dark tent for quiet rest.
Leaders ensure staff receive relevant training, especially for SEND support, and wisely utilise additional funding to enhance resources and opportunities for all children. This proactive approach helps children with barriers to learning to make steady progress, fostering a sense of understanding and support within a friendly atmosphere.
Our ethos
