About this day nursery

Fun In The Forest offers engaging outdoor nature-based holiday camps located in North London, specifically in Muswell Hill. Led by Ivana Grant, an experienced Forest School leader and primary school teacher, the camps cater to children aged 5 to 11 years.

Since 2012, the programme has been fostering happy childhood memories in Coldfall Woods, encouraging children to reconnect with nature and rediscover the joys of imaginative outdoor play. Activities range from building forts, crafting with natural materials, foraging, and whittling, to exciting woodland games like capture the flag.

The emphasis is on child-centred learning, where individual needs are met, and every child feels included, promoting happiness and a sense of adventure away from screens. The mixed-age group approach, which includes children aged 3-5 and 5-11, encourages older children to mentor younger ones, developing patience and communication skills while boosting confidence and self-esteem.

Regular attendance is encouraged to allow children to experience seasonal changes and develop relationships within the Forest School setting. The nursery prioritises safety with established rules and boundaries, maintaining a 1:6 adult-to-child ratio for 5-11 year olds and a 1:4 ratio for 3-4 year olds.
