Great Dalby Pre-School Playgroup is situated in the charming rural village of Great Dalby, near Melton Mowbray. Established in 1992, the preschool operates from the historic village hall, fostering a strong connection with the local community.

Our ethos

Our aim is to nurture all our children through play, learning and developing following Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance. Our children are helped to develop through a wide range of activities which aim to challenge and stimulate them preparing them for next adventure at school and life as happy and confident individuals.

What it's like to attend

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff complete regular assessments to identify any gaps in children's development. Children are then provided with targeted support to help them catch up. For example, they are provided with small-group sessions where focus is placed on developing children's communication and language skills. Staff work well with other professionals and parents to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. All staff know these children well and recognise what interests them. Staff use this knowledge to provide activities to help children develop in their learning.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy playing outdoors. They balance successfully on bikes as they weave around the equipment and their friends. Staff keep children safe during their time at the pre-school. Doors remain locked, and staff tell each other when children move between the inside and outside so that they can supervise well.
