Greetwell Hollow Day Nursery, established in September 2012, is an Ofsted-rated "Good" early years setting located in Lincoln. The nursery provides childcare for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, operating 51 weeks a year, with a one-week closure over Christmas and on Bank Holidays.
The daily operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. They work closely with the adjacent Carlton Academy Primary School, offering additional Breakfast and After-school Clubs for school-aged children.
The nursery is part of the Heath Farm Day Nursery Group, founded by Tim and Alison Wright, and now led by their daughter, Izzie Wright, maintaining a strong focus on creating a "home from home" environment for children. The nursery promotes healthy eating, engaging children in cooking and gardening activities.
Their curriculum balances child-led play with structured activities, both indoors and outdoors, and prepares older children for school by fostering independence and essential skills.
Our ethos
The nursery aims to create a "home from home" environment, balancing child-led play with structured activities, and fostering independence and essential skills to prepare older children for school. They also promote healthy eating through cooking and gardening.
What it's like
Children hold discussions with staff who ask them questions to encourage their thinking skills. They have opportunities to learn about life cycles, observing eggs hatching into chicks and caterpillars transforming into butterflies. Children also learn to make healthy foods using produce they grow in the garden.
