How they support every child

SEND provision

Leaders prioritise the needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, ensuring staff complete assessments to identify those who need further help. The nursery's special educational needs coordinator supports staff to monitor progress and identify next steps for learning. Staff consult with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, and use additional funding to support areas of greatest need, including physical control and sensory awareness. Children who face barriers to learning are supported to address gaps and build skills for later education.

Outdoor space

Older children explore their climbing and balancing skills on the climbing frame and obstacle course in their outdoor area. They are vigilant when children travel and play in the open spaces and woodlands, and are encouraged to consider their own safety.
