Harmony Nursery in Harrow offers a stimulating and nurturing environment for children aged 0-5, with additional flex-care for 5-12 year olds. The nursery is dedicated to providing high-quality early education, adhering to the national curriculum as outlined in the EYFS framework.

What it's like

Children happily enter this setting and are warmly welcomed by the kind and friendly staff. They settle quickly into the range of activities available and communicate together as they play and have fun with each other. Staff have high expectations for children's behaviour and communicate these well to them. Staff praise positive behaviour and give regular reminders. As a result, children behave well and are focused during activities. Children learn to share toys with their peers and know when to ask for help to manage this. Staff form good relationships with children and reassure them effectively when needed. Managers and staff have created a curriculum which focuses on the key skills and learning that they want children to develop during their time at nursery. This is implemented through the teaching and learning experiences they provide. Staff take time to listen to children's needs and wishes. They plan activities based on what children like to do and need to learn next. Children concentrate for long periods of time at activities of their choice. For example, staff create a farm scene with gloopy mud, toy animals and real vegetables. Children eagerly play with this while singing, learning vocabulary and reading animal stories.

  • Diversity is celebrated in this setting. Staff provide children with opportunities to learn about a range of religious and cultural events throughout the year. Parents are welcomed into the setting to celebrate these learning experiences with their children.
  • Developing children's language is a priority and staff provide children with extra support, when needed. Many of the children speak English as an additional language, so the attentive staff support children to express themselves through key language, gestures and songs.
  • All children make progress in this setting, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those that speak English as an additional language. The dedicated special educational needs coordinator supports parents and children to help them get ready for their next steps in education.
  • Children are taught how to lead healthy lifestyles. Staff ensure that children are provided with nutritious snacks and meals, along with fresh drinking water. Staff teach children how to keep their bodies healthy, such as looking after their teeth and making good food choices.
  • Staff feel valued by the strong leadership team. There is a clear vision for continuous development and ongoing improvements. New staff have thorough inductions and frequent monitoring. Staff attend regular team training and online courses. This helps all staff to share the same vision and understand children's care and learning needs.

SEND provision

All children make progress in this setting, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. The dedicated special educational needs coordinator supports parents and children to help them get ready for their next steps in education. Children are regularly given focused, small-group sessions in the sensory room to help them meet their targets.

Outdoor space

Staff promote daily exercise in the garden, where children can develop their gross motor skills and access fresh air.

EAL / language support

Many of the children speak English as an additional language, so the attentive staff support children to express themselves through key language, gestures and songs. Children from around the world communicate well with each other and the staff.

10/10 Nursery! The management are experienced and running this nursery really well. You can tell each and every staff member has been selected based on their abilities and values. They work great as a team which creates a perfect environment for children to be comfortable and thrive.

My son and daughter both attended Harmony Nursery between the age of 1 to 4 years. The staff and management are amazing, friendly, caring, professional and always welcoming. Our children thoroughly loved their time at the nursery. We were very happy with their development as they were all set and ready for School. Overall, our experience was outstanding. Highly recommend this nursery.

So happy with my both boys progress during their time at Harmony. They attended the nursery since the were two and It was great to see them going happy to the nursery, they felt safe and secure there. The team is amazing. They have been such a great support to us, especially Zoe. The amount of different activities that you provide is excellent. Placing my sons at Harmony has had a very positive effect on their development and social skills. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us

My son started going Harmony Nursery few months ago . He has settled down quickly and started to showing remarkable improvements. The love and care , the staff has shown is amazing . Thanks Zoe . The entire team is welcoming, approachable and accommodating . Harmony Nursery encourage children to do lot of activities. They provide regular updates on children’s progress. We highly recommend it

Both my children (8 and 4) both attended Harmony nursery from 2-4 years. They both progressed majorly. Especially my youngest son who could only say a few words when he started and now he speaks amazingly. Both Achna and Zoe was there with both my kids. Couldn't love and appreciate them anymore if we tried. They are absolutely amazing and very understanding with the children. Definitely recommend this nursery. Thank you to every one at harmony nursery!
