About this day nursery

Harton Village Kindergarten, located in South Shields, places a strong emphasis on fostering a supportive and engaging environment for children. The nursery is committed to high-quality care and education, guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which outlines standards for learning, development, and care for children from birth to five years old.

They actively seek parental involvement, utilising a "Parent's Portal" to keep families informed and engaged with their child's progress. A significant feature is their use of Tapestry, an online learning journal system that allows parents secure access to their child's observations, photographs, and even videos, enabling them to track achievements and contribute to their child's learning journey from home.

The kindergarten aims to provide a comprehensive and collaborative approach to early childhood education, ensuring children are well-supported in reaching their full potential. They also offer flexible solutions for school-aged children with their breakfast, after-school and holiday clubs.

My daughter has just started Harton Village Kindergarten and I honestly couldn't be happier. The staff are so lovely and very professional, they took the time to get to know my daughter which helped her settle and they made us all feel welcome. My husband was very impressed with the online learning journals he likes to see what she's been doing at nursery and the comments from staff, it makes him feel that he is also involved. I would definitely recommend Harton :)
