About this day nursery

Hawksfield Nursery, established in March 2016, is a purpose-built early years setting located conveniently off the A39 near Wadebridge. Serving children from three months to five years old, the nursery prides itself on offering a richly resourced and thoughtfully designed environment where each child feels cherished, heard, and esteemed.

The nursery operates with an "In the Moment" ethos, which is a child-led approach to learning where educators respond spontaneously to a child's immediate interests and inquiries, fostering a natural and personalised learning experience. They draw inspiration from influential thinkers like Froebel and Montessori, as well as global practices such as New Zealand's "Te Whariki" and the Reggio Emilia approach, to cultivate children's inherent potential, curiosity, and imagination.

The core principles revolve around developing self-esteem, self-control, and a caring attitude, ultimately striving to nurture happy, confident individuals with a lifelong love for learning and problem-solving skills. The nursery also places a strong emphasis on fostering robust partnerships with parents and carers to ensure a collaborative approach to each child's development.
