Heath Hayes Early Learners, operating since 2025 in Cannock, offers childcare for children aged 0-4 years. This childcare setting, located at Unit 4 Hawks Green District Centre, is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, all year round.
The nursery provides a warm and welcoming environment where children are cared for by attentive and nurturing staff. While the curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the inspection noted that it is still being embedded and staff are developing their confidence in planning for children's next steps in learning.
Despite this, leaders and staff prioritise children's wellbeing, ensuring strong attachments to key workers and emotional support. The nursery makes good use of local community resources for outdoor play, including a community garden and parks, as it does not have its own outdoor space.
Parents appreciate the intimate atmosphere and the nurturing care their young children receive, with daily information sharing through an online application.
Our ethos
Heath Hayes Early Learners follows an "In the Moment" planning approach, responding to children's interests to foster self-directed learning through play and conversation. They also emphasise outdoor exploration, taking children to local woodlands for adventures.

Inclusion & environment
While there are no children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) currently enrolled, leaders and staff understand how to identify children who may need extra support and have trained staff. They also maintain professional relationships with outside agencies to support parents. However, weaknesses in the curriculum and teaching may mean that adaptations for SEND children might not yet be successfully sustained.
Children benefit from fresh air outdoors by visiting a community garden and local parks, as the nursery does not have its own outdoor space. They also engage with the local community through visits to a nursing home and supermarket.
My daughter had an amazing time with Heath Hayes Early Learners. They were kind, friendly and professional. They made her feel comfortable and safe. It was a great transition from her childminder to get her ready for school. Would highly recommend.
