Inclusion & environment
Those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive effective support. Children with SEND are strongly supported. Staff use funding effectively to purchase resources to support them and to take on additional training themselves. They have plans to develop a sensory space for children to relax and retreat to. Children who were nonverbal when they started now use words and actions to communicate.
The quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, was observed by the inspector and the impact that this was having on children's learning was assessed.
The staff at this nursey are honestly just amazing. All the staff were great with my son especially paddy! My son thrived here, making lots of friends. They do lots of different activities with the children taking them out to the park, library and also doing activities that involves family's to. I would recommend this setting to anyone. Read on GoogleOur experience with Hedgehog Nursery in Chatham has been nothing short of exceptional. My son Shabbir has been attending from 8am to 6pm long hours, and thanks to the amazing staff, especially Jemm and the other teachers, he's been thriving. One of the standout features is the regular updates we receive throughout the day via the EYParent app, complete with photos of Shabbir's activities. It's incredibly reassuring to see him so engaged and happy. While the current infrastructure may not be perfect, the potential is undeniable. With a little investment, this nursery could easily become the best in Chatham. The space is there, and with the dedicated staff already in place, the possibilities are endless. Moreover, the flexibility and support provided to us as working parents have been invaluable. From assistance with child care support from council to accommodating our schedule, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure both the children and parents are well taken care of. I cannot recommend Hedgehog Nursery enough.
