Located in Lytham St Annes, the nursery operates during term time, offering flexible attendance options from 8 am for Breakfast Club to 6 pm for after-school care. They pride themselves on maintaining higher staff-to-child ratios than legally required, ensuring ample support and attention for each child.

The curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), focusing on 7 areas of learning, and is tailored to individual needs and interests. Children have access to both indoor and outdoor play spaces, including forest school activities within the Heyhouses CE School grounds.

The nursery utilises the 'Evidence Me' app to facilitate communication with parents, sharing children's learning journeys and enabling parental contributions. They also offer extra-curricular activities such as football, music, dance, and drama.

Healthy snacks are provided, and children can either bring a packed lunch or order a hot meal from the primary school. The nursery values strong parent partnerships, assigning each child a key person, and conducting home visits before a child starts to establish a personal connection.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported exceptionally well. Intervention plans are regularly monitored and gaps in learning are targeted with precision. Leaders use funding appropriately to make improvements to the environment, resources and staffing arrangements. As a result, children make good progress from their starting points.

Outdoor space

Due to COVID-19 safety measures, parents drop children off at the side gate, which leads straight to the outdoor play area. Children have continuous free-flow access to the garden and the resources are within easy reach, allowing them choice.

EAL / language support

Children who speak English as additional language are well supported. Staff use various teaching strategies such as picture cards, visual timetables and keywords in their home language to support learning. As a result, children learn new words, developing the skills they need to be confident communicators.
