This family-run nursery, originally established in 1998 as Hillside Day Nursery, was re-launched in 2013 under new ownership, now managed by two sisters and their mother.

The nursery is housed within a converted 1930s residence and boasts expansive outdoor play areas. Their philosophy centres on fostering natural curiosity and a love for learning through play and investigation.

The enchanted rooms are thoughtfully stocked with diverse materials including loose parts, authentic items, and natural objects to spark imagination. With a strong emphasis on personalised care, the nursery maintains a high staff-to-child ratio, ensuring individual attention for each child.

They are Ofsted registered and committed to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through a dedicated SENCO, individualised support plans, and close collaboration with families and external professionals. Hillsides Secret Garden views parents as primary educators and actively encourages their involvement in nursery life and their child's developmental journey.

Pricing & funding

This nursery charges based on session types including half days, early days, midi days, and full days. Government funding is stretched over 52 weeks of the year and used in five-hour blocks. Meals are billed separately, though parents can opt out by providing a packed lunch.
