• Children are welcomed into the pre-school by kind and caring staff who encourage independence through self-registration and named coat pegs.
• Children form strong relationships with staff, feeling safe and secure, and receiving comfort and reassurance.
• Children access a wide range of inviting resources and settle into their play, extending their learning with staff support.
• Children enjoy cooperative play, building towers and engaging in games like hide and seek, counting turns and giggling with excitement.
• Children move freely between indoors and outdoors, developing physical skills through obstacle courses and safe risk management.
• Staff provide a broad and balanced curriculum, observing children's play and skilfully extending learning in the moment, such as introducing computer keyboards to children interested in technology.
• The pre-school celebrates its diverse nature, with staff supporting children who speak English as an additional language by learning keywords and sending home voice recorders.
• Staff consistently apply behaviour management strategies, calmly redirecting undesired behaviour and explaining expectations, such as for throwing balls outdoors.
• Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are promptly identified and well-supported, with staff assessing needs and implementing effective strategies for progress.
