Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) concentrate for short periods when making marks with chalk, listen to staff, and quickly learn what different equipment is used for. The introduction of a communication board is helping children with SEND to understand the meaning of words and phrases. Proactive staff work in true partnership with parents and other professionals to secure timely interventions for children with SEND, and share highly effective teaching strategies.
Older children take a special interest in living things outdoors, responding well to staff and gathering natural materials to create a 'ladybird house'. Children enjoy plenty of time outdoors in the fresh air each day, taking part in wider celebrations and events inspired by their own family cultures and traditions.
