Hopscotch Nursery is located in London, NW6 6DT, and offers care and education for children aged from one to four years. It operates all year round, from Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 5.30pm. The day nursery accepts 15 and 30 hours funded childcare places for three and four-year-olds. At its inspection in February 2022, Ofsted rated the day nursery Outstanding in all areas.
The Ofsted report noted that staff have extremely positive and nurturing relationships with children, implementing a challenging curriculum that builds on what they need to learn next. Children have opportunities to learn about the natural world by planting vegetables and taking part in bird watching. The outdoor area provides a range of physical opportunities, with staff organising obstacle races and games to develop coordination skills. The inspector also found that staff work exceptionally well with parents and are supported with targeted training.

Inspector highlights
Inclusion & environment
The manager provides highly effective support to staff. She meets with them individually and regularly to discuss and support their needs in relation to workloads, well-being and training. Staff have attended many courses that were targeted to meet their individual needs. For example, a course to develop a greater understanding of autism spectrum disorder led to heightened awareness and understanding in this area.
Children have excellent opportunities to learn about the world around them. For example, staff and children take part in a bird watching initiative. Children delight in trying to spot different birds outdoors to match them against their picture cards. Children plant and grow vegetables in the outdoor area. This helps them to understand where food comes from and how things grow. The spacious, well-designed outdoor area provides children with a very wide range of physical opportunities. Staff create interesting and challenging obstacle races and organise games to develop children's physical coordination skills. Children skilfully climb across frames and balance very well on scooters.
What a great place the drop-in is. My daughter loves it and Lorna, is one of the loveliest and welcoming person. She’s very approachable and makes this place so good. The activities available are always spot on and keeps my daughter, busy and entertained during the three hours we are there. My daughter and I genuinely love this place. Thank you so much Lorna, for making our visits always worthwhile.
Read on GoogleHad our daughter's 3rd bday party there and I can say the facilities are amazing. All about Hopscotch works well for a party: the main room is big and there are some toys and available music, the soft play is great fun, the kitchen big and accommodates many children + there is a good workservice to get things prepared. The garden is great! Lots of cars, toys, sand, a nice climbing frame with a little slide, benches for parents to sit. Also the fact that is closed (double gates) means parents can really relax. Everyone had a great time, highly recommended!
