About this day nursery

Horbury Day Nursery, part of the family-operated Inspired Childcare group, is an EYFS-accredited nursery situated on Manorfield Drive in Horbury, Wakefield. Established in 2014, it caters to children aged from birth to five years old, extending its services to families in Horbury, Ossett, Wakefield, and nearby regions.

The nursery operates with a core philosophy that emphasises enjoyment in learning, integrating this belief into all activities and interactions. Inspired Childcare prioritises the professional development of its staff, providing comprehensive training and closing for two half-days annually for specialised sessions.

Parents are kept informed of their child's progress and daily activities through the Famly app. Horbury Day Nursery also provides nutritionally balanced 5-a-day meals.

Our ethos

Our ethos is that 'it's fun to learn' — the cornerstone everything we do is built upon. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to support the learning and development of every child in our care, with each child's progress tracked and shared with parents through the Famly app.

They treat each child as unique and encourage them in everything they do. Staff provide an exciting and safe environment with a wide range of resources and natural, sensory experiences.

Pricing & funding

Fees are effective from April 2026 and are structured around full day, half day, and hourly rates. Early starts are available for an additional charge. Meals and consumables are charged separately, though healthy packed meals can be brought from home instead.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Management and staff work very well with outside professionals to arrange support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. They follow recommended strategies, which helps all children to make good progress. Management identify the most effective ways to support children who are in receipt of additional funding.

Outdoor space

Children have daily opportunities to run, climb and cycle, which promotes good physical health. The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning.
