How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff identify concerns about children's development and work closely with parents to help seek professional support and guidance. Staff work well with other professionals when children have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff make and use clear plans to help children with SEND make progress in their individual learning.

Outdoor space

Children thoroughly enjoy being physically active outside, where they use wheeled toys, climb, dig and play in sand. These extended periods of physical play help their health and well-being. Older children create 'recipes' in the mud kitchen with their friends.

I really recommend Hummingbird Preschool! An excellent nursery, with professional and very friendly staff. Ruth, Paul and Karon are great, really popular with my son and are very careful with his allergies. Their updates via Tapestry are always interesting and good fun. I cannot recommend them highly enough! They are awesome!

A wonderful nursery which my son attended for 15 months, only leaving due to our family relocating. All staff are wonderful and welcoming, happy to chat at drop off and pick up which I always enjoyed. There were regular tapestry and baby's days updates so I knew what was going on, especially useful to put my mind at rest if we'd had tears at drop off. I also liked that although it was a doorstep drop off and collection usually, if my son wanted to show me something when I picked him up I was allowed in to have a look. There was absolute transparency, I didn't feel as though the setting was closed off to me at all. A big thank you to Ruth, Paul, Karen, Kayleigh and Maddie, my son was in great care with you.

The best nursery ever! Fantastic team and our two kids love every moment they spend at Hummingbird. We had quite negative experience with our previous 'factory' style nursery and really appreciate the individual attention and calm, relaxed atmosphere at Hummingbird nursery. Top marks to the whole team there!

What a fantastic preschool!! We moved to Hummingbird after a change in circumstances and naturally, we were worried about the transition - but there was no need to be worried... our daughter has never been happier, she’s a different girl! There’s a real family 'feel' about Hummingbird which shines through in every interaction, whether that be with the child or parent. Ruth, Paul and Karen make everyone feel so welcome, involved and included which is really important - it makes going to work and leaving the little one a lot easier :)

A lovely preschool. It has just had its first OFSTED inspection which reflects the excellent care and education they provide. The staff are professional and dedicated to ensuring the children in their care receive the best possible experience . The facilities and equipment are child friendly and completely age appropriate. A welcoming safe and happy place for children to prepare for school.
