Hummingbirds Nursery, established in 2023, provides a warm and highly nurturing environment for children aged 0-4 years. Open all year round, it aims to create a homely space with a natural family feeling, as highlighted in its latest "Good" Ofsted report from 15th April 2025.

The nursery is praised for its strong relationships with children and families, with staff quickly learning to meet individual needs. The curriculum is designed to build on existing skills, with a strong focus on communication and language development, where staff constantly speak to children and narrate activities.

Children are encouraged to be confident and curious, learning a variety of skills such as growing their own food through a well-implemented curriculum. How they support every child

SEND provision

Leaders and staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) well. They identify where there are delays in development and swiftly implement learning plans to help these children make progress. They work closely with parents to review children's development. Leaders and staff lack knowledge about local processes, but are keen to engage with other professionals to attend training and improve their knowledge in this aspect. Parents of children with SEND are happy with the progress they make.

Outdoor space

The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.
