Hunt Scholars Tuition

About this day nursery

Hunt Scholars Tuition provides specialist educational support for children and young people aged 5 and over. They focus on assisting neurodiverse learners to access education, understand their individual differences, and develop strategies for self-regulation and self-advocacy.

The centre employs a trauma-informed approach, prioritising a sense of safety and regulation, and building strong relationships through engaging activities. They aim to foster resilience and tolerance to challenge by openly modelling neurodivergent differences and implementing thoughtful mitigations.

Learning often begins with "ready to learn" skills such as task engagement and self-regulation, before progressing to academic challenges across a wide range of subjects, from phonics to GCSE English and Maths, and broader subjects like science and humanities. The tuition centre features an adaptable environment designed with sensory experiences in mind, including carefully managed sound, adaptable lighting, temperature control, and various seating options and movement spaces to meet diverse individual needs.

Our ethos

Hunt Scholars provides tuition for children and young people from age 5 and throughout their education journey. We specialise in supporting children and young people with neurodiversities, to both access education and begin to understand their own differences and the most effective ways to mitigate and regulate their impact and self-advocate when the changes needed require that. Using trauma-informed practice which concentrates on the child or young person feeling safe and regulated and beginning to build relationships with the team, through exploration of things they enjoy and through being in a setting where neurodivergent differences are openly modelled and met with thoughtful mitigation, we hope to create a situation where resilience and tolerance to challenge can begin to develop.
