Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Effective support is in place for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Language is linked to actions and routines, and children use photos of key routines and resources to make their needs known. Children respond to visual cues, signing, and spoken language to support their understanding. Gaps in children's learning, including for children with SEND, are narrowing due to this tailored approach. Routines are adapted to meet children's individual needs, and simple sign language, picture prompts, and translation tools are used to support understanding. Additional funding is used to make reasonable adjustments and purchase resources, and staff receive training to strengthen their understanding of additional needs and inclusive approaches. Progress is tracked closely to identify gaps and provide timely, targeted support.

My daughter attended Hydra tots and the staff were really welcoming both to her and us as parents. Days were engaging, and always different, it's clear the staff take a huge amount of time planning the days and how the kids can get the most out of their time there. The team were very attentive, adaptive and flexible and worked with us to ensure our daughter was happy. I'd highly recommend Hydra tots to any prospective parents!!!

Both my children attend Hydra Tots and have thrived and love their time there. I'm a busy working mum and it's so reassuring to know they are happy and safe when at nursery. When my son started as a 1 year old he was struggling with separation anxiety from me. The team worked with us and it wasn't long before he loved going to nursery. He will be leaving this summer, a confident little boy totally prepared for school and I know my daughter will too when her time comes. Definitely recommend considering this nursery for your children.

Both of my children have attended Hydra Tots. All of the rooms are fun, clean and age appropriate with the right level of structure. This is what encouraged us to send our girls in the first place. The care the nursery provide is brilliant in every room, you get the impression they really care about your child and their development, we get full report at the end of every day and they take particular notice of their interests. I especially loved how much effort each person put in to settling my girls in when they started, they made it so easy, equally when they move rooms it's done with minimum disruption to the kids and their routine. My kids absolutley loved this nursery and it has by far exceeded our expectations as parents.

Our daughter has attended this nursery since Dec, 2018. We have found the managers and staff in the rooms to be incredibly attentive, passionate and encouraging regarding the learning and development of the children and very knowledgable about our daughter’s individual developments in all areas. The staff care deeply about the children and give detailed accounts of our daughter’s experiences each day. The rooms are exciting and interesting to engage her and she loves spending time there with her friends and familiar adults. We feel it’s a safe and warm environment which has aided her development significantly. A wonderful nursery, would highly recommend.

I can not speak highly enough of the personal and individual care each of my children receives/received from the well trained, polite and professional staff. The nursery is very well presented and the structures in every room suits the age and capabilities of the children that attend. My daughter left in September 2019 and had a mass advantage thanks to the preschool room and I can’t thanks them enough. My son who still attends (from being 2) is due to leave this year for school and again his ability has been recognised and progressed by the amazing staff. One member of staff goes above and beyond and has made a lasting positive impression on my son.... Becca in rainbow room, you are amazing.
