Into The Woods Outdoor Nursery offers a distinctive early learning experience as London's inaugural full-time, fully outdoor nursery. Embracing the Forest School philosophy, the nursery provides children aged 2½ to 5 years (and a Forest School Club for 5–7 year olds at Highgate) with an immersive natural environment.
Operating during term time at both Highgate and Hampstead Heath (Kenwood House) locations, the nursery encourages continuous outdoor engagement, fostering a profound connection with nature. Children benefit from fresh air, physical activity, and opportunities to develop communication, imagination, critical thinking, confidence, and resilience through diverse activities like den building, crafting with natural materials, and imaginative play in mud kitchens.
The dedicated and highly qualified teaching staff are passionate about outdoor education, seamlessly integrating the Early Years curriculum into a hands-on, engaging woodland setting. The nursery champions the belief that the outdoors is the optimal environment for children's holistic development, cultivating innate curiosity and a love for learning by allowing them to experience the seasons firsthand.

Inclusion & environment
Leaders plan to continue to enhance their knowledge of the best ways to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Staff make excellent use of the natural environment as an exceptional foundation for children's learning. Children assess for themselves how high they can climb and balance on low-lying trees while under staff's supervision, and develop excellent physical skills by mounting rope swings and gliding along slacklines, strengthening their core muscles by negotiating uneven forest terrain.
