Children at James Oglethorpe Pre-School thrive in a warm and nurturing environment, forming strong and positive relationships with staff and peers. The dedicated team, comprising well-qualified and observant individuals, has a secure understanding of each child's unique needs and interests.
Staff carefully assess individual children's needs and work closely with parents and carers to plan appropriate next steps. Should additional support be required, the pre-school proactively requests assistance from external agencies in a timely manner.
The pre-school provides a well-planned and stimulating curriculum, tailored to children's interests and developmental stages, which supports them in making good progress. Staff act as excellent role models, promoting politeness and kindness, and their behaviour expectations are high.
During snack times, staff encourage children to develop good hygiene and self-care habits by prompting them to wash their hands before eating. The pre-school also consistently supports children's communication and language development throughout the day by introducing new vocabulary during activities such as sharing books, songs, and rhymes.
