About this day nursery

Lottie & Ollie Ltd, established in 2013, provides childcare for children aged 1-4 years old. 30pm, Monday to Friday, the nursery offers a well-organised and calm environment where children can play and interact positively.

The nursery operates a key-person system, fostering close bonds between staff and children, especially new attendees, ensuring sensitive and responsive care that supports emotional well-being. Attentive supervision gives children the confidence to explore stimulating environments.

The curriculum is designed to keep children engaged and motivated, with inviting play areas that encourage socialisation and early reading. Staff effectively promote children's creativity and imagination, for instance, by engaging them in activities like making shadows with torches.

Older children also benefit from an early literacy programme, where they are encouraged to use learned sounds to read basic words. Lottie & Ollie Ltd provides regular opportunities for children to be active and practise gross motor skills, through garden play and local walks.

Staff regularly observe and assess children's learning, promptly addressing any concerns. This is particularly beneficial for children with speech delays or those who speak English as an additional language.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted at its latest inspection on 13th March 2024.

I’ve visited a few times now to this nursery and the children are happy and playing nicely. The staff are friendly and clearly care about their children. There are plenty of toys for free play, the babies sleep well at lunchtime with the lights low. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming.
