Jolly Giraffes Day Nursery, a well-established independent nursery with over two decades of experience, prides itself on fostering a genuine 'home-from-home' atmosphere for children and their families. Unconstrained by franchise regulations, the nursery enjoys the liberty to craft unique learning experiences that nurture each child's full potential.
The dedicated team, including three hands-on owners—Sian, Tracey, and James—who are deeply involved in daily operations, ensures a passionate approach to early childhood education. This commitment is reflected in their strong connections with local schools and various professionals, such as speech therapists and educational psychologists, allowing for early identification of special needs and comprehensive support for children and their families.
The nursery actively engages with the local community, participating in events like 'Woodlesford in Bloom' and organising intergenerational visits to local care homes. Children also enjoy regular outings to local attractions like the train station, canal, and Rothwell Park library, which tie into their curriculum.
These experiences, along with detailed transition reports and school visits, ensure a smooth progression into school life.

Inclusion & environment
Additional funding is used incisively to help those children who need extra support with some aspects of their learning. For example, it has been used to access professional therapy services to support children with speech and language delay. This helps children to catch up quickly in their learning.
Staff provide plenty of physical play and exercise in the 'movement room', such as yoga. This helps to promote children's good health.
Jollies are a wonderful nursery I’m so glad I chose them for my son, He has spent 4 wonderful years at this nursery and is such a confident, happy child and jollies have played a huge part in this. The contact with parents is fantastic and jollies go out of their way too make children feel welcome and supported. The facilities are fantastic and regularly changed and updated. Finally Jolly’s staff are amazing they genuinely care about the children and really get to know them, the staff are also very consistent the majority of the staff today are the same as When he started 4 years ago. They are fun caring the children do so much. It is really home from home and one big family. We will miss Jollies.
Read on GoogleMy son has just had his last day at Jolly Giraffes before moving to Primary school and he has loved every minute of being at this nursery. He has come on leaps and bounds since joining and comes home each day with lovely stories about all the fun he has had with the staff and his friends. A big thank you from me and his Dad for preparing him so well for his big step into school life. He will miss you all!
Read on GoogleI cannot rate Jollies highly enough, they've been such a big part of our family's life for nearly four years now and we still have a little one there. The staff are incredible, it really is like one big family. My kids come home after a day at Jollies absolutely giddy with happiness telling us all about their day. They work so hard and every child is supported and nurtured. My kids have flourished being at Jollies.
Read on GoogleMy little girl has just left jolly's to go to big school. They have shaped her into the lovely little girl she is today. Her skills are above average for her age, I've always been impressed with what she has learnt through out the years at such a young age. She can write her name clearly without any help, add up small numbers and even take away. Shes not even 5 yet. She will miss everyone at jolly's very much, staff and friends. I can not recommend this place enough!!
