Kalgarth Grange Nursery School is in Warrington, providing care and education for children from birth to four years old. The day nursery is open all year, Monday to Friday, from 7.30am until 6pm, except for bank holidays. Ofsted inspected the day nursery in June 2022 and gave it an overall rating of Good.

The inspector reported that children arrive eagerly, are extremely confident learners, and make good progress. Children’s behaviour was described as exemplary. The report noted that children have frequent access to the outdoor space, where they can explore the natural world by hunting for bugs and using magnifying glasses. Staff form excellent relationships with families, who described the nursery as 'superb'. To improve, the inspector suggested providing staff with more targeted feedback to raise the quality of teaching.

What it's like

Children arrive eagerly and explore the learning environment, engaging for exceptionally long periods in play like hunting for bugs in the outside area. They are extremely confident learners who make good progress. Children feel safe and secure, forming exceptional relationships with staff and confidently talking in large groups about their experiences.
