Children happily arrive, confident to independently explore the activities and resources on offer. The dedicated staff team supports new children and their families in making a smooth transition from home to nursery, using methods such as encouraging parents to record their voices on electronic buttons and displaying family photos to help children settle quickly.

The day nursery has an ambitious educational programme, planned by passionate and focused staff based on children's needs and interests. The goal is for every child to become confident, independent, and a good communicator.

Staff effectively support children who speak English as an additional language, using words from their home language and picture prompts to aid understanding of daily routines. For children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), staff work closely with professionals, and an experienced SEND coordinator provides advice and support.

They devise comprehensive individual learning plans to ensure children make the best possible progress. Older children benefit from a stimulating outdoor area, where they have daily access to be active and explore.

They engage in planting fruit and vegetables in their 'grow zone', learning about nature and how things grow, and using harvested produce in their mud kitchen. While the outdoor area for older children is exceptionally exciting, the educational programme for younger children's outdoor area is an aspect the nursery is working to enhance.

SEND provision

Staff work in close partnership with professionals to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The experienced SEND coordinator provides advice and support to staff. They carefully consider strategies to support children and devise comprehensive individual learning plans. This helps children with SEND make the best possible progress from their starting points.

Outdoor space

Older children enjoy being in the stimulating outdoor area, where they have many opportunities to be active and to explore. They spend time planting fruit and vegetables in their 'grow zone'. The manager and staff plan an exceptionally exciting outdoor for older children. They have daily access to the outdoor area, where they can develop their physical skills.

Google refused to correct the location. However the nursery is located opposite Brunton first school.
