The dedicated staff team fosters a caring environment where babies and children form strong bonds, supporting their safety and well-being. Children are observed to enjoy their time at the nursery, with their confidence growing effectively.
The setting provides a well-sequenced curriculum that considers individual needs and interests, helping children develop key skills for future learning. This includes effective communication and language skills, as staff model clear speech and use eye contact and body language to support understanding.
The ethos of the setting is to use 'in the moment planning', enabling children to follow their own interests and ideas. This approach encourages children to be active and motivated learners, making good progress.
Staff promote independence, as children learn to pour drinks, serve food, and clear plates. Babies also develop independence by spreading their own crackers.
Children develop good physical skills and learn to assess risks, such as with outdoor rope swings. Parents are kept well-informed about their child's day and progress, feeling well-supported to continue learning at home.
While outdoor play is encouraged, the nursery is working on ensuring quieter children are more effectively included during these times to enhance their learning experiences.

Inclusion & environment
Staff do not always encourage quieter children to contribute during outdoor play, which can lead to these children's learning experiences not being extended as well. Staff help children identify risks such as outdoor rope swings and assess how to use resources safely.
Midford Road Nursery really is the most wonderful nursery. The staff are so caring and have a great relationship with the children as well as their families. They give the children lots of freedom and choices and we have seen our daughters confidence grow so much from her time at nursery. We cant thank them enough for everything they do.
