Hopscotch Day Nursery, located in Bath, provides care for children aged 12 months to 4 years. The nursery operates from Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, and on Fridays from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
They offer a diverse range of activities, including tennis, Spanish lessons, ballet, and gym sessions at Baskervilles. The nursery also organises various trips using their minibus, such as visits to a local care home for arts and crafts with residents.
The team at Hopscotch is described as friendly, highly qualified, and experienced, with many long-serving staff members. The nursery is situated in one large room, thoughtfully divided into different areas to cater to each age group.
A core philosophy at Hopscotch is to encourage free play across all ages, believing this fosters development in younger children through observation and learning from older peers, while simultaneously teaching older children important behavioural expectations and nurturing skills as they interact with and assist younger children. During the day, children participate in age-related groups for activities like circle time, adult-led sessions, and small group work with their key group.
Currently, the nursery is full and has a substantial waiting list, with visits only offered once a space is confirmed.
Our ethos
We believe this encourages the younger children’s development, as they watch and learn from the older children, but it also helps the older children to learn behavioural expectations and how to be with the younger children, looking after them and helping them throughout the day.
