About this day nursery

Kids Planet Shrewsbury provides care for children from birth to four years old. The day nursery operates all year round, opening from Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 6.30pm. The setting registered with Ofsted in 2021 and was judged to be Good at its inspection in July 2025. The inspector noted that staff are kind and patient, and that children form strong bonds with them. All children were seen to make good progress in their development.

According to Ofsted, the curriculum is sequenced with clear aims for children at each stage. Children enjoy story times and rhymes, and spend time outdoors using larger equipment or taking part in activities such as making paint from natural ingredients. The setting offers specialised, one-to-one support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), working with parents and outside professionals. To improve, Ofsted recommended that staff are supported to extend children's learning during play and to strengthen the transition arrangements between rooms.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive specialised, one-to-one support, to ensure their individual needs are continually met. Staff attend specific training to enable them to provide children with SEND with the expert support they need. Leaders work closely with outside professionals and parents to ensure that children receive timely interventions and tailored support.

Outdoor space

Children thoroughly enjoy the time they spend outdoors in the fresh air. Staff plan a wide range of activities for children to experience that enhances their learning, such as making paint from natural ingredients and developing physical skills using larger equipment.
