Kids Planet Shrewsbury is a well-established nursery that is part of the Kids Planet Day Nurseries group, providing over 7,500 childcare places across the North West of England and the Midlands. The Shrewsbury branch, located on Battlefield Road, Harlescott, opened in June 2021 following a full refurbishment.

The group, founded in 2008 by Clare Roberts and John Hoban, focuses on delivering high-quality childcare and well-maintained facilities, aiming to offer children the best possible start in a secure and stimulating environment where they can learn and explore. The Shrewsbury nursery operates from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday to Friday, and has capacity for 120 children from babies to preschool age.

It features a sensory room, age-specific rooms for different age groups, and extensive outdoor play areas. The opening of the Shrewsbury nursery also created 30-40 new jobs in the town, underscoring the group's continued expansion and commitment to providing exceptional early years care.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive specialised, one-to-one support, to ensure their individual needs are continually met. Staff attend specific training to enable them to provide children with SEND with the expert support they need. Leaders work closely with outside professionals and parents to ensure that children receive timely interventions and tailored support.

Outdoor space

Children thoroughly enjoy the time they spend outdoors in the fresh air. Staff plan a wide range of activities for children to experience that enhances their learning, such as making paint from natural ingredients and developing physical skills using larger equipment.
