About this day nursery

Kidz Day Nursery Ltd, established in 2014 by Bill and Julie Whitbread, began in Ingleton, North Yorkshire, to meet the demand for flexible, child-centred childcare. What started as a small venture quickly grew, with Bill joining Julie, who brought over two decades of experience in early childhood education.

Their shared vision prioritises care, trust, and a family-first approach, striving to create a nurturing home-from-home environment deeply embedded in the local community. The day nursery group has since expanded to multiple locations, including Catterick, Middleham, and Hutton Rudby, each aiming to provide high-quality, happy, and secure learning spaces where every family and individual feels valued and supported.

They emphasise a child-led approach, encouraging learning through exploration, curiosity, and play, with gentle adult guidance. The nursery also utilises technology like the ParentZone app to foster strong partnerships with families, allowing parents to stay updated on their child’s daily activities and contribute to their learning journey.

SEND provision

Staff regularly observe and assess children's learning to monitor their progress. They use this information to identify any possible gaps in a child's development and incorporate these into their educational programmes. This helps to ensure children receive the individual support that they need in their learning.

Outdoor space

Children eagerly explore the range of toys and play equipment offered in the indoor and outdoor areas. They show good hand-to-eye coordination and problem-solving skills as they make cakes in the mud kitchen.
