Kindred Little Learners Nursery and Pre-School provides a nurturing and traditional environment within Havelock Recreation Ground. The nursery prides itself on its experienced and long-standing team who foster strong relationships with children and families, utilising basic signing to enhance communication.
Emphasising traditional values, the nursery teaches kindness, politeness, and respect, preparing children for school by encouraging the use of 'please,' 'thank you,' and formal titles for staff. They offer care for children aged 3 months to 5 years, operating 51 weeks a year with opening hours from 7:30 to 18:00.
The nursery is rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and offers enriching activities such as dance, sports, yoga, Sing and Sign, and cooking. Nutritious, home-cooked meals are prepared daily by an on-site chef, and the nursery provides a 5% discount to NHS and Service Personnel.
The setting features a spacious, easily accessible car park, minimising traffic congestion and ensuring safe drop-off and pick-up. They maintain strict staff-to-child ratios: 1:3 for babies (under 2), 1:5 for toddlers (2-3 years), and 1:8 for preschoolers (3-4 years).
Outdoor play is a priority, with daily use of secure outdoor areas, risk assessments for weather conditions, and adjusted schedules during extreme heat to protect children from sun exposure. The settling-in process is flexible and parent-led, involving initial visits and the creation of an 'All About Me' book to gather essential information about each child.

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Parents describe the nursery as exceptional and the staff as very attentive.
Inclusion & environment
Staff ensure that all children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, have access to a range of stimulating and appropriate learning experiences. Managers and staff are extremely skilled at identifying children who need additional support. They work closely with external agencies and support parents effectively.
In the garden, toddlers climb, jump and ride on bicycles as they complete an assault course.
Don’t bring your children here, the staff are not attentive to all children especially if your child is darker skinned or with learning difficulties. They often berate staff especially those who are darker skinned in front of children and my child comes home and repeats these remarks made in front of her, which is inappropriate for children under the age of 5 to even know. The microagression and lack of accountability from management and teaching staff when asked about these behaviours is shocking, genuinely disgusting how they treat certain children and certain staff of colour. This place needs to be investigated fully.
Read on GoogleThis is a great nursery with very caring staff. It is clean, well managed and friendly. You are kept well informed as a parent and staff respond quickly if you have any questions. My child is very happy and is definitely getting all that she needs to be confident, sociable and ready for school.
Read on GoogleAbsolutely fantastic team, both caregivers and management, they have been extremely supportive towards us as family unit. Both my children attend Kindred Little Learners and they always talk about the staff with such fondness. I would choose Little Learners ten times over, my children have absolutely flourished at the nursery, every day they are impressing us with their increased confidence or something new that they've learnt to do or say. Kindred introduce the children to a diverse range of cultures and celebratory occasions from around the world with the children, which is fantastic for us as multi-cultural family. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Little Kindred Learners.
Read on GoogleVery caring, responsible and clean nursery. My child really enjoys going here and I would definitely recommend. All the staff members communicate very well regarding my child's day during pickup.
