Inclusion & environment
Children of all ages have great fun playing with sand. They fill buckets, scooping up sand on small spades and in other containers. Children quickly learn from staff how to turn the bucket over as fast as possible and to pat it before lifting to reveal the sandcastle.
My daughter attended this nursery for over a year, and when we first joined, it was an Outstanding setting. Sadly, since Kindred took over, everything has gone steadily downhill. The nursery used to be clean, well managed, and run by long-standing staff who genuinely cared. Now it feels chaotic and unorganised, with constant agency staff and very little consistency for the children. Most of the permanent, experienced team have left, and it really shows in the day-to-day care. The standards of hygiene have dropped noticeably, rooms no longer feel clean or fresh, and there’s little attention to detail around children’s welfare. Management is poor and unresponsive; concerns are often dismissed or brushed aside rather than acted upon. Communication with parents has become increasingly frustrating, and there’s a clear lack of leadership and accountability. The manager refers to parents as ‘dear’ as opposed to learning their names. It’s such a shame, as this nursery once had so much potential and a wonderful reputation. I would strongly encourage Kindred to review their management approach, staffing stability, and hygiene standards, as the current situation is far from the level of care and professionalism families expect. I have now removed my daughter from this setting due to several safeguarding concerns.
Read on GoogleWe put our daughter’s name down to start at Kindred Church House in January 2026 back in March 2025. Unfortunately our circumstances have changed and we no longer require the place for her. We let the nursery know as soon as we could and within the required timeframe to ensure the place could be offered to another family, and so we could receive our £150 deposit back as per the T&Cs. It has now been over a month since we let the nursery know and we’ve still not received our money back. I have chased via email numerous times and receive no reply, I have called several times and no one answers. I appreciate nursery staff are incredibly busy however a simple update is not a lot to ask for. They’re very quick to take your money, but getting it back seems to be impossible. I’m now quite glad our daughter won’t be going to the nursery if this is how bad the communication is… beware if you’re considering sending your child there.
