About this day nursery

Kindred Twickenham Day Nursery is dedicated to fostering joy and curiosity in young children through a rich array of facilities and a nurturing environment. The nursery boasts expansive gardens, a rare find in London, providing ample outdoor space for exploration and learning.

For energetic pre-schoolers, there is an indoor soft play area that promotes physical development in a safe and engaging setting. Babies at the nursery benefit from their own dedicated outdoor garden and a unique indoor garden, allowing them to experience sensory outdoor play year-round.

A significant number of staff members have long tenures, contributing to consistent and familiar care that helps children feel secure and builds lasting trust with families. The nursery caters to children from birth up to five years old and operates 51 weeks a year, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

It has received a "Good" rating from Ofsted as of March 28, 2023. Beyond core childcare, Kindred Twickenham offers various enrichment activities such as cooking, gardening, multisports, music, and French lessons.

The nursery also provides fresh, home-cooked meals from an accredited menu, prepared daily by an on-site chef. Additionally, an NHS and Service Personnel discount of 5% is available.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children who need additional support are keen to explore the sensory area and listen to music. Staff follow these interests to promote children's language and help them to build relationships. Pre-school staff use signs and adapt language to support children's individual needs, and use these strategies with all children in pre-school. However, staff in the toddler room do not consistently develop their practice to support children's language development, and do not enhance their practice and use strategies, such as using signs and visual cues, to benefit all children, including those with additional needs.

Outdoor space

Children are confident to move between the rooms in the nursery. Staff supervise children to ensure that they are safe as they free flow between the indoor and outdoor space. Pre-school children tend their allotment in all weathers.

My son attended this nursery from December until May. It all seemed great at first, the staff seemed lovely and seemed like they really cared for the children. However unfortunately on three separate occasions he had come out of nursery with marks on his face/ear. I completely understand children between the ages of 2/3 are still developing how to express emotions ect but on the three separate occasion's it was not witnessed by a member of staff, not once. It was also never captured on their CCTV . So just felt this was really a safeguarding issue because why are children being left unsupervised? After learning that a LOT of children from his group/class had gone home with the same marks/scratches, i decided that was enough, they obviously were not being cared for properly. The staff have a duty of care and it just wasn't being met. While i understand everyone has different experiences unfortunately this nursery was just not for us and i felt like my child was not being cared for properly. I dont normally write reviews however i would just like parents to be aware if you are thinking about sending your child here.

My two children attend Twickenham Day Nursery. The nursery has a friendly, family feel with great facilities. The food served is excellent. My children have progressed since they started there, both in terms of their confidence and development. I would recommend the nursery to others.

My daughter attends Twickenham day nursery two days a week and I would highly recommend. The staff are great and really loving, the meals are all freshly prepared on site and look and smell delicious and there is always so much put back into the nursery and the children in the setting. Thank you Twickenham day nursery.

I requested a place for my daughter, having recently been made redundant I had a 15 hr childcare code. Once the manager heard this he was not interested. Said there was nothing available. I enquired about a waiting list or if there was availability at their sister nursery. I received no response. I was then accidentally copied into an email to another parent stating that there was availability. I am now back on my feet and am paying a different nursery full time hours. It’s a shame you don’t want to help out people just going through a rough patch and are only concerned with the money. So many other lovely providers locally who offered different options. Further to the response below. You have confirmed that i did indeed make the correct decision by not sending my daughter to Twickenham Day Nursery, as rather admit to the mistake you have made, you have now lied in your response. I have the email that I have been copied into to another parent and I have the complete email trail which you did not respond to on 20/5/22. I even sent a further follow up email on 31/5/22 which you also did not respond to. If this was a generic email as you state. Then why was another parents email address included and why did the email state that there was limited places available when you had stated that there was none? I am now The Head of Safeguarding in my new role and take data breaches very seriously. You have shown yourself to be further dishonest which is not what anyone would want in a provider caring for their child. I have all the correspondance and have no reason to lie. You could have just admitted you made a mistake.
