The nursery's educational philosophy centres on play-based learning, embracing imagination, nature, and daily routines. Their approach, described as "Koselig and Adventure," utilises natural materials and flexible play areas to encourage both reflective and active exploration. How they support every child

SEND provision

Some children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, do not make sufficient progress from their starting points. Leaders are aware that the curriculum is not ambitious for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Leaders do not ensure all staff have the knowledge and skills required to adequately support children with SEND, though they are taking steps to address this. Additional funding is used to provide resources for children, but the impact of this funding on children's learning gaps is not effectively targeted. Effective procedures mean that some children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, or those in receipt of additional funding, do not receive targeted support.

Outdoor space

Children develop a love of the outdoors and learn about respect, nurture and nature through unique activities such as building campfires and caring for living things. Babies enjoy daily walks around the grounds, listening to birds and smelling flowers. Staff teach children about keeping safe outdoors.

This is the most wonderful nursery setting for children to explore! My little girl is such a confident, out going, mud loving child, and muddifords certainly helped with this! They also have lots of extra circular activities for family to get involved in!

In my personal experience with both of my children, the standard of care was not good enough and was on a steep decline over the period of 2024 to 2025. The staff turnover is insanely high and children can't form bonds with staff as they are never consistent. Agency staff were being used a lot before I managed to move my children from here.

Our little boy (Charlie) spent time here over the Easter holidays and keeps asking if he can go again. He absolutely loved it and we have never seen him so excited as the mornings he was waiting to go. Seeing children playing smiling from ear to ear caked in mud was a little daunting but where would you ever have this much fun again? It made me wish I was 6 and staying to play. The staff were all very friendly, polite and well presented making sure I (and Charlie) was happy before leaving. Would I recommend kingwood? 100% YES. A massive thank you to all the staff and everyone involved.

This place is amazing! Our little girl just “graduated” from nursery here and she has loved every minute of it. The setting is beautiful, staff amazing and they do all sorts of wholesome outdoor activities. She often comes home caked in mud and smelling of bonfires with an ear to ear grin! I can’t recommend this place enough.

We moved back from Melbourne and our little one was so used to City life, and now being back in the UK living in the Countryside, we have sent him to the best Daycare, Kingwood is such a great place, and the setting is amazing, highly recommend.
