Ladybirds Nursery, situated in Chichester, has been a cornerstone of childcare in the Witterings area for nearly three decades. The nursery prides itself on a philosophy that acknowledges the unique qualities of each child, fostering an environment where children can develop into caring, confident, and inquisitive learners through comprehensive family support.
Established in 2004 by Sue Blunden, who previously managed the 4+ Nursery at East Wittering School since 1996, Ladybirds Nursery has consistently achieved Ofsted's highest rating for the past ten years. The nursery places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning exemplified by its Beach School programme, which allows children to learn by the seaside.
The curriculum is aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring children are well-prepared for their transition to school. Ladybirds Nursery strives to simplify its fee structure for parents and is committed to providing high-quality care within a clear and supportive framework.

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
parents compliment the dedication of staff and appreciate the information they share with them about their children's learning.
They comment on the 'personal' support they and their children receive.
Inclusion & environment
Staff know their children well. Children make good progress, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). A special educational needs coordinator spoke with the inspector about how they support children with SEND.
The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors. Children have space and opportunities to develop their physical skills.
Absolutely a great place for your children to grow. Both my children have been to ladybirds.
