What it's like

While leaders have made some improvements, there are still breaches to the 'statutory framework for the early years foundation stage', particularly concerning safer eating practices and supervision during outdoor play. How they support every child

SEND provision

Where developmental delays are identified, leaders liaise with external agencies for further advice and support. However, children's key persons sometimes lack knowledge about children's individual needs so they can support them to make the best possible progress. Staff spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy their time playing outdoors. They sit with staff and use chalk to make marks on the ground. There are a range of opportunities for children to practise climbing, balancing and moving in different ways. Children are confident to engage in risky play. They enthusiastically climb on a large climbing frame and go down tall slides. However, staff do not always ensure there is someone close to children who use this climbing equipment. This increases the risk that children could have an accident and injure themselves.

Both my daughters attend Laugh N Learn. Staff are thorough in everything and provided the extra attention and detail I wanted in them giving feedback. The SENCO is very nice and helpful, especially with giving strategies for those who are finding it difficult to support their children outside of nursery settings. Would recommend them to everyone. Both my daughters have reached milestones with Laugh N Learn.

All of my children have been to this nursery throughout the years and I have always been given such a wonderful experience with my children. All staff have a great relationship with myself and my children. They cater for individual needs of each of my children. My son was diagnosed with Autism and the nursery SENCO was amazing with all the activities and education/ learning she put into place for him before he went to school. Highly recommend this nursery.

My daughter attended Laugh and Learn from a very young age. From the induction to her last day I was so content and happy with the whole service provided by the amazing staff. Every single one of them went above and beyond and treated my daughter like their own. Shabnum the manager, Aisha, Isha, Eman and the rest who worked in the baby room were absolutely fantastic. Isha my daughter’s key worker was absolutely amazing. She was so patient with me and answered every single question every time I went to pick up my daughter so did the manager and the other staff who brought her out to me whenever I collected her. I would 100% recommend laugh and learn nursery to anyone with young children. Your children will be very happy and so will you be as a parent and have peace of mind.

My daughter started nursery at Laugh n Learn (alum rock branch) in 2017 and I didn't hesitate to send my son here more recently. I find the staff to be very professional, flexible and supportive. The settling in sessions really helped both my kids and myself get a feel for the place before they started. They both started nursery at a young age of one and they were looked after well and enjoyed their experience and learning there. I prefered this nursery to others when viewing because its brighter, and the layout of younger children and babies is separate to the older childrens section upstairs. My daughter who recently started school I feel had a smooth transition/start and this was due to her learning her social and learning skills from nursery which the teachers at school said she settled in and has picked up things alot quicker. So I feel that adequate pre school skills are supported well at the nursery.
